Good Blogging Practice Part-30

With this post Espreson is going to complete its 30th milestone on “Good Blogging practice“. Espreson had summed up its previous posts, when it completed 20th post. So, this trend will be continued definitely. But before that, Espreson need to add another review on Helpful-Wordpress-Plugin.

“Contact Me”, this phrase is well know to us. Through this gateway we contact other person. When someone need to contact you via your blog, then how come he can contact you? There are different ways, like,

  1. Putting email-address on your blog sidebar
  2. Via your blog comment form
  3. Through Contact form

If I have been told to choose the contact way, then I would have jumped to 3rd option. Because 3rd option is more professional, customizable and convenient. Now the question comes, how?

Answer is so simple; with wordpress plugin you can do this easily.

cforms_version Cforms is a fantastic and useful wordpress plugin I have ever experienced. With this plugin you can add multiple contact forms throughout your blog and you need not be expert to deploy Cforms.

Do you need to start? Just follow this steps,

  • Download & unzip the plugin
  • Upload the plugin directory to the wordpress /wp-content/plugins/
  • Activate it from your wordpress administrations ‘Plugins’ menu
  • Customize the “form settings”, “styling”, etc. from “cforms” menu
  • Create a “Page” from “Manage” and give “page title” as per your choice
  • Put a simple code, <!–cforms–>, in the page content by turning on “code view”.
  • Publish it

Thats all, and your blog is now equipped with contact form. Lets check out its features at a glance,

  • Built in CSS theme selector and CSS editor
  • Ajax supported form submission
  • Fully customizable Look & Feel
  • Backup & Restore
  • Database based tracking of submitted data
  • SPAM protection using Q &A and CAPTCHA(as per choice)
  • Submission status (success/failure) optionally via Alert Box
  • Cloning / duplication of forms
  • Form validation & regular expressions

and lots more.

You can also feel the reality of cform in Espreson also. Just go to contact in menu bar, you will find it.

Having contact form can be considered as Good Blogging Practice, because, it is the gateway through which someone can communicate with you; whether the communication purpose is for negotiation or help or whatever. It puts professional touch in your blog.
